National Doughnut Day

Today is National Doughnut Day.  The day was created in 1938 as a fundraiser for Chicago’s The Salvation Army to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War 1.

Happy Doughnut Day!

  1. I do love a hot, fresh original Krispy Kreme donut… sparingly, of course. Although, I will admit… There is no Krispy Kreme in the suburb where I live, which means I have to drive about 20-30 minutes into the city to get one… and I only like ’em hot. So, a while back, I had to make a call there and find out the schedule for when they’re “HOT”. lol (With gas prices like they are, who wants to drive all that way for a cold donut, ya know what I mean??? 🙂 )
