Today I did my baking for Christmas.  In total I have made:

  • 2 Apple Pies
  • 2 Pumpkin Pies
  • 2 large Pumpkin Turnover
  • 1 mini Pumpkin Turnover
  • 1 batch of Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here is a question to ponder:  Apples are fruit and pumpkin is a vegetable.  Does a slice of apple pie count as a serving of fruit?  And does a slice of pumpkin pie count as a serving of vegetables?

Below are two polls to record your answer on those questions.  Please share any reasoning for your answer in the comments.  🙂

  1. Of course in NC, if you go to some BBQ restaurants where you can order two or three veggies with your meat, banana pudding is permitted as a veggie. Of course, I will take any reason to have a bowl of banana pudding. Happy holidays, BTG

    • I do not think that I have ever had Banana Pudding, I agree any reason/excuse will do when it comes to some desserts. For example I passed by the cookie jar with the chocolate chip cookies inside and that was reason enough to have some. 🙂

      Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

  2. Banana pudding is one of those quienessential US desserts. Bananas, vanilla wafers and vanilla pudding are the key ingredients. I am sure Paula Dean has a good recipe you can use with all her sweet desserts. It is usually served at summer or family picnics. Have a great one. Have a great holiday, BTG

    • I used Google to search for “Banana Pudding” and the first recipe to come up was Paula Deans. 🙂 Looks good. After all the candy and desserts over the holidays though will have to keep the recipe on hand for another day. 🙂
