Consumers are more likely to provide feedback to a company about a bad experience than a good one. The same holds true for sharing information about that experience with others. Where we should let a company know when they did not live up to expectations, it is also good to let them know when they exceeded expectations.
When an employee at a company has gone out of their way to help with something it is important to let them and their manager know. Companies like positive feedback because it shows that they are doing a good job and exceeding the expectations of their customers. They also like to know if a specific employee was the one who went above and beyond to help a customer.
Who knows it might just make someones day to know what they did was appreciated.

Thanks. I also try to provide positive feedback inside any criticism/negative feedback I write. That way it shows what they did right and where they can improve. No one is all negative or all positive most of the time we are all just one big shade of gray trying to do the best we can. π
