Word of the day–Sciamachy

sciamachy sahy-AM-uh-kee,

noun:

an act or instance of fighting a shadow or an imaginary enemy.

Sciamachy is from the Greek “skiamakhia”, which means “fighting in the shade”.   In ancient Greece instructors taught in shaded public places, such as porches and groves.
