Bertrand Russell

“Our great democracies still tend to think that a stupid man is more likely to be honest than a clever man, and our politicians take advantage of this prejudice by pretending to be even more stupid than nature made them.”
― Bertrand Russell, New Hopes for a Changing World

  1. Great quote. Of course, there was a study in the past few years by the University of Toronto and University of California at Berkeley, that surprised even them. They found people who had more wealth tended to cheat more than those who did not whether it was right of way decisions, undeserved test scores, eating cookies meant for others, playing dice, getting incorrect change in your favor, etc. Also, when they rigged a monopoly game for one someone to win – more money to begin with and when passing go and an extra die, the winner became dictatorial to other players. Then when the roles were reversed, the person with actual less wealth, but more monopoly wealth became dictatorial as well.
