National Voter Registration Day

Have you recently turned 18? Gotten married? Moved? Or want to vote after a long period of not voting in elections? Now is the time to get registered, update your registration, and confirm you are registered to vote.  Here is a short video from Michelle Obama on the importance of voting:

As mentioned in the video above states from time to time purge their voting registration lists. The Supreme Court ruling in Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Institute found that it is legal for states to remove a voter if they hadn’t voted in a long time and didn’t return a post card from the voter registration office. So if you haven’t voted in the past 4-6 years and want to this mid-term election please check to make sure you are still registered.
