Ive Voted

I have officially voted in the 2018 midterm elections; have you?  I hope the answer to that question is either a resounding, “yes” or an “I’m voting later today”. Voting is one way to make our voices heard in a democracy.

Here is a small clip from the Murphy Brown episode “Results May Very“; in which Corky has some strong words to a last minute voter who seems more interested in talking to the press than voting:

If you haven’t made a plan for election day now is the time to do so.

  • Find out the candidates and issues on your ballot. There are some locations online to do this: Voter411, BallotPedia, your Secretary of State website, and Project Vote Smart.
  • Make sure you know where you voting location is located.
  • Make sure you know what to bring with you to the voting location
  • Make sure you have transportation to and from your voting location.

Keep in mind that in most jurisdictions as long as you are in line at closing time you may stay in line to cast your ballot.

Before you take that selfie, or snap a picture of your ballot, make sure it is legal to do so in your state.
